2 each Black Powder Coated 18ga Steel Mounting Arms with Hanger Clips and Leveler Inserts and Bolts (C)
1 each Mounting Kit
The Mounting Kit includes:
(8) #12 x ½” Self Tapping Screws, (1) 32” Industrial Double-Faced Tape, (2) Finger Cleats, (1) Installation Instructions
All parts are available individually from whiteboardrails.com. Contact us at sales@whiteboardrails.com or call 516.986.1154.
Top Rail Placement
Locate the Top Rail (A) and place it above your existing chalk board in the desired location. Mark the center using the center hole on the Top Rail. Level the Top Rail and mark the remaining 4 holes. Drill five 5/16” (or appropriate size) holes to accept the five #10 (or appropriate size) anchors (not supplied). Place the Top Rail over the holes and secure to the surface using the five #12 x 1-1/2” (or appropriate size) anchor screws (not supplied).
Bracket Installation
Locate one of the Support Rails (B) and the two Mounting Arms (C). Align the Support Rail, with the channel on the rail facing up and out, to the desired hole in the Mounting Arms (see illustration). The Mounting Arm has holes drilled in 1” increments so you can raise or lower the board to the desired height. Attach the Support Rail to the Mounting Arm using the four #12 x1/2” self tapping screws.
Secure the Double-Faced Tape along the entire bottom Support Rail on the channel, not the flat side. Do not peel the protective paper from the other side of the tape at this time. Align and attach the bottom Support Rail using the procedure above. Allow maximum spacing between the two Support Rails for stability.
Hang the Assembled Mounting Arms and Support Rails on the Top Hanger Rail (see illustration). Align the center of the SMART Board on the center of the upper Support Rail, be sure it is seated securely on the Top Support Rail.
If the height of the new board is correct continue to the next step. If you need to adjust the height of the board, remove the white board, take the Mounting Arms/Support Rails down, unscrew the Support Rails and repeat the previous steps.
The next step secures the bottom of the completed Rail assembly to the wall or chalk or whiteboard before the SMART Board is permanently secured to the Rail System. Before securing the Finger Cleat Assembly the projector image must be aligned properly on the SMART Board.
Once the alignment is done, remove the SMART Board without shifting the position of the Rail System. Slide the Finger Cleat Assembly around the Leveling Foot and mark the mounting hole position for a wall mount. Do the same for the other Mounting Arm. Using the appropriate wall anchor and screw, secure the Finger Cleat Assembly to the wall on both sides.
Finger Cleat Installation for Chalkboard Mounting
If the Finger Cleat Assembly needs to be secured to the existing chalk or white board, clean the surface of the board thoroughly with an alcohol wipe to insure good adhesion. Attach a thin, heavy duty double-faced tape (not supplied) to the bottom side of the Finger Cleat, slide over the Leveling Foot and secure to the surface. Do this for both Mounting Arms.
Place the SMART Board back on the Rail System and adjust until the projected image is correct. Peel the protective paper from the Double-Faced Tape on the bottom Support Rail and with the SMART Board still hanging on the Top Support Rail and press the board firmly against the Bottom Support Rail to secure. The tape takes 24 hours to set up and cure properly. Do not attempt to remove the tape.
Congratulations! The second one will be much easier.

SMART Technologies SB680i2 Installation
The RS670 is compatible with SMART Technologies SB680iG2 with the addition of a mounting plate (not supplied in the kit*) secured to the wall behind the projector mounting bracket.
The mounting plate dimensions is 10 ¾”x15”x1 ½” thick and is made from two pieces of ¾” plywood sandwiched together with wood glue and screws.
Suggested options to finish the plate are: attaching two pieces of ¾” wood tape or edgebanding material of gray to the outside edge of the new plate or spray paint the edge gray.
Secure the new plate to the wall first at the same spot as you would the projector mounting bracket, be sure not to obstruct the mounting holes in the metal plate. Secure the projector mounting bracket to the plywood and continue the installation as usual.
Important Installation Note: With the cleat facing up on the top Support Rail attach the bottom of the top Support Rail to the uppermost hole in the Mounting Arms. The top hole on either side of the Support Rail are NOT attached to the Mounting Arm.
*Let us know if you would like us to supply the mounting plate as a separate item.
